How to Get Involved
PlacemakingUS is a voluntary PlacemakingX regional network inspired by our partner networks in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Host a Meetup
Meetups take all forms: whether it's inviting a few local placemakers to connect for coffee, or you want to invite some placemakers from other US cities to interact with locals on a specific problem. Let's talk about ways to effectively gather and connect. In 2021, we took a long National Roadtrip to promote 'place' as the heart of the American Recovery. In 2022, we did two statewide roadtrips and went global visiting 14 conferences on 4 continents. Let's connect when we're in each others' neck of the woods.

Pro bono, Equity Workshops & Projects
We are gathering placemakers to work on pro bono, equity-based projects in which we support a community-sponsored project. We call this program United Streets of America and you can sign-up as a volunteer placemaker or recommend a community-based project.

Webinars, Podcasts, Videos, Blogs, Guides and Online Content
We partner with practitioners to produce webinars and other content. From the Race and Place series to our Streateries webinar, we've gathered an incredible array of talent and ideas and created a method of event production that amplifies outreach. Partner with us to produce a webinar, digital workshop, or other online content.

International Tooltests
Tooltests give us a chance to try out a technique or concept in our local context while working in a global cohort. A brainchild of Placemaking Europe: Toolbox (shout out to the "Tooltest Day Crew"), previous Tooltests have focused around topics such as lighting, climate resiliency and even porches. When a Tooltest challenge is issued, you are encouraged to implement a test of the proposed tool in your context and then report the results back to the global group participating. It's quite fun and network-building.
