Support PlacemakingUS

We are seeking productive relationships with funders and donors who believe in our ability to be a critical resource for the learning and sharing of placemaking techniques, strategies and for building relationships across multiple sectors and communities.

Our network is fighting for public space by equipping communities across the country with a range of tools, experiences, funding and new relationships to regenerate their neighborhoods into complex, resilient systems transformed to face 21st century issues like climate change, isolation/polarization, economic inequity and public health.

Help our non-profit fight the good fight by contributing to an aspect of the cause that's meaningful to you:

Scholarships

PlacemakingUS provides discounted and free learning scholarships to those who need them. Your donation helps send a placemaker to one of our online or in-person convenings. In 2022, we provided over $2,000 in learning sponsorships.

Programming

Providing quality programs like our Portland Mastery Program, Placemaking Week Flint and Placemaking Weekends in NYC and NOLA don't pencil on tuition prices alone. We need support for 2023 programs we'd like to launch in a city near you or on a priority theme that strikes a chord.

Travel Fund

PlacemakingUS leaders mostly pay their own way for conference tickets, flights, hotels and per diem expenses. We'd like to be able to make it easier for our leaders and learners to attend conferences and visit each others' communities. In 2022, we participated in 14 placemaking conferences on 4 continents, made two road trips and visited 30+ cities.

Grantmaking

We've seen through our Placemaking Earth Challenge's partnerships with business improvement districts that our ability to offer small grants bring more placemakers into the fold and helps ensure they complete their projects and learning objectives. We seek partnerships to regrant funds along with our education programs and technical assistance.

Technical Assistance

Through our “United Streets of America” program, we prioritize working with frontline communities that have been uprooted and looted by destructive urban planning, auto-oriented development, racist policies and unequal investment. Our network is fighting back by equipping communities across the country with a range of tools, experiences, funding and new relationships to regenerate their neighborhoods into complex, resilient systems transformed to face 21st century issues like climate change, isolation/polarization, economic inequity and public health.
